Sensitest Sperm test - home male fertility test
Sensitest SPERM Test is a quick and reliable home test for male fertility. It evaluates the concentration of sperm in ejaculate. Within 10 minutes, the test determines whether the sperm count is within the standard limit for male fertility.
In the past, infertility was considered a distinctly female problem. However, infertility does not only affect women. Male problems are the sole or additional cause of infertility in up to 40 percent of infertile couples. Currently, 10-15 percent of couples have been trying unsuccessfully to conceive for a whole year.
Male fertility
The term male fertility refers to a man's ability to impregnate a woman. This requires a cooperative sexual partner and a sexually aroused man whose semen contains a sufficient number of healthy, motile, and viable sperm. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is currently considered normal for the total ejaculate to contain 40 million sperm or more, with 75% of them being alive and 50% motile and with normal morphology. The lower limit for male fertility is set at 15 million sperm per milliliter of ejaculate. If the number of sperm in the sample is lower, it is considered reduced fertility or infertility.
Even with a low sperm count that was previously considered incompatible with fertilization (e.g., below 5 million or motility below 20%), there is still a chance that your sperm will be able to fertilize an egg under certain conditions, especially if the sperm is of high quality—i.e., alive and highly motile.
Sperm quality changes
Sperm count and quality change throughout a man's life. The sperm analysis of a 25-year-old man will look different from that of a 70-year-old man. Lifestyle also has an impact. However, it is important to know that a decrease in sperm count may only be temporary and that the condition can improve again if certain principles are followed.
How to support fertility?
Male fertility is influenced by many factors. Genetics and lifestyle play a role.
Support fertility:
- By leading a healthy lifestyle – exercise, eat more fruit and vegetables, don't smoke, limit alcohol, and avoid drugs – sperm killers.
- Avoid anything that could increase the temperature around the testicles. For sperm to be produced, the temperature in the testicles should be about 1°C lower than body temperature – i.e., avoid tight underwear, hot baths, saunas, sitting with a laptop on your lap, etc.
- Have sex regularly, but not several times a day. According to experts, having sex several times a day is counterproductive in terms of conception, as the sperm count cannot be restored immediately after ejaculation.
Sensitest Sperm Test is a rapid home test for detecting sperm concentration in human semen with 99.2% accuracy.
The test shows whether the sperm count is normal (at least 15 million sperm/1 ml). The test does not detect other fertility factors (e.g., motility, quality, etc.). It uses a test cassette method based on the antigen-antibody principle (immunoassay). The test results can be read by the presence or absence of lines in the test fields.
Advantages of the test:
- Complete test kit with all necessary accessories.
- Safe and simple home test with results in a few minutes.
- Comfortable and intimate atmosphere for performing the test.
- Provides an idea of the possible cause of infertility.
