Is a 10 seconds test for detection of Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) or Trichomonas vaginalis.

HOW DOES VS-SENSE WORKS?

BV and trichomonas infections increase the vaginal pH (acidity) from its normal range (3.5-4.5)

A change of the VS-SENSE swab tip color from yellow to green or blue will occur when the swab comes into contact with vaginal secretions which have abnormal pH and /or low buffer capacity.

The color will change when secretion pH is equal or above 5.2 units. In addition, the color changes will occur in a dynamic range between pH levels of 4.3 to 5.2 depending on the levels of the secretion buffer capacity.

Unlike other commercially available regular pH tests such as Nitrazine paper, the VS-SENSE indicator is capable of combining two of the Amsel criteria: pH levels of 4.3 or greater and watery discharge. Hence, the VS-SENSE product will increase sensitivity of BV from 77-78% to 92%.
