The Imutest Cat test is an easy-to-use aid in the diagnosis of increased sensitivity to cat allergens. It helps confirm whether allergy symptoms are caused by a true allergic reaction.
Over 2 million people in the Czech Republic suffer from some form of allergy. An allergy is an inappropriate reaction of the immune system to harmless substances in the environment. The body feels threatened by contact with the allergen and the immune system releases a substance, histamine, to defend itself, but this causes allergic symptoms. The allergen can be virtually any foreign substance, the most common being pollen.
The number of allergy sufferers is constantly increasing. At least 25% of the population in developed countries is allergic to some substance - and this number is steadily rising! New research shows that the proportion of allergic children is even higher.
Some people, even those who are affected, tend to underestimate the severity of their allergy. It has been shown that allergic rhinitis sufferers are 3.5 times more likely to develop asthma than the general population. In addition, inadequate treatment of allergies can cause complications in the form of asthma, loss of taste, smell or sinusitis.
The most common manifestations of allergic diseases are sneezing, itchy and stuffy nose (hay fever), itchy and red eyes (conjunctivitis), eczema, hives, coughing, shortness of breath, whistling (asthma).
Feline allergens
Feline allergens are among the smallest and most problematic. Most particles are smaller than 2.5 microns and the smallest measure only 0.5 microns. The main allergen is a protein found in cat sweat and saliva. Cats have a higher allergen content due to their greater production of sebum, kittens are less dangerous. Cat allergens are spread by microscopic droplets that can float in the air for six hours or more. When they eventually settle, they can be easily stirred up with the slightest movement. To get them airborne again, all you have to do is walk around the room.
The Imutest Cat Allergen Test is definitely worthwhile, for example, for people with time-consuming jobs who can get an idea of the severity of their health condition in a few minutes, but it is also useful for mothers with small children.
The tests are also suitable for home diagnostics.
The test is carried out like a normal fingertip blood test, and the result is known in a few minutes in the comfort of your own home.
This diagnostic from the renowned British company Imutest Limited has all the necessary health certificates and long-term approvals.
